The Clan Fergusson Charitable Trust


The Clan Fergusson Society of North America is incorporated and it maintains and administers the Clan Fergusson Charitable Trust solely for charitable purposes including, but not limited to, the advancement of education, science and the arts, e.g. through educational grants and scholarships and the dissemination of historical and genealogical information. It is a 501c3 organization.


The principal objectives of the Society are fulfilled through the Charitable Trust:
To collect and preserve literary, historical and genealogical records, documents and relics relating to the history of Clan Fergusson and Scotland.To honor our Scottish heritage and to inspire among our members, descendants and other Scots, the pride and spirit of our Celtic ancestors, both Scottish and Irish, and to perpetuate for the present and future those traditions, values, qualities and attitudes from the past which have proved to be of sound social benefit.

All merchandise offered and/or shown in The Bee Line, at game venues, and on this site is sold solely for The Trust. All profits are added to existing funds and are used for scholar-ships and other educational purposes.

A bequest of $10,000 by deceased Canadian member, Donald M. Ferguson, endowed the noted Scottish Studies Program of the University of Guelph in Ontario with a Clan Fergusson Annual Travel Grant.

Circles of Merit

Financial contributions to the Trust in the form of money, securities, life insurance or bequests in a will by persons interested in supporting the objectives of the Clan Fergusson Charitable Trust are welcomed. Donors to the Clan Fergusson Charitable Trust are named members of the Circle of Merit.

Tartan Circle: $25-$99
Bee and Thistle Circle: $100-$249
MacFhearghuis Circle: $250-$999
Celtic Circle: $1,000+
The Trustees of the Clan Fergusson Charitable Trust are the officers of the Corporation. They review all requests for financial support to determine that they are bona fide and are for charitable purposes as defined in the By-Laws of the Clan Fergusson Society of North America, Inc.

In the United States the Trust has been issued a 501(c)(3) designation under the Internal Revenue Code and as a tax exempt and non-profit organization may receive tax-deductible gifts.

Canadian members of the Society should determine if there is tax relief if a contribution is made directly to the Charitable Trust.

Donations to the Trust may be unrestricted or directed (specified). They may be given in memory of or in honor of individuals or groups.

Appropriate acknowledgments and letters of receipt are provided.
